Mark Vierthaler is the 23-year-old managing editor of the Dodge City Daily Globe.

He worked for the Daily Globe for a little over a year as the crime and city government reporter before spending a brief time in Lawrence at the Lawrence Journal-World as the higher education reporter. After being offered the managing editor position in Dodge, Vierthaler returned to help improve his hometown paper in whatever way possible.

He feels that the size of a newspaper and the area it covers has nothing to do with the quality of journalism its residents receive.

Vierthaler has won several awards for his news writing.
