It's the most wonderful time of the year

I'm not really a basketball fan.

I played — or rather proved to be an effective bench-warmer — ice hockey in college for one season my senior year up at the University of Kansas. I'm a nervous wreck if I can't catch my Colorado Avalanche games.

But nothing compares to March Madness.

You can have your NBA with your overpaid superstars, more concerned with showing how much of a hoss they are on the court than really winning and boosting the team's name. Give me college basketball any day, where the majority of kids you're watching will never pick up the rock after their senior year other than for a rec-league game.

There's passion there that can't be matched. And it's addicting.

The two windows of the publisher's office looking out onto the Globe's newsroom are proof of that. One has a massive bracket scrawled across it, tracking teams as they go for the championship.

The other window is keeping track of the in-house office pool and who happens to be leading. (Looking now, our two sports guys are at the bottom of the pack... ouch).

The two TVs in the newsroom are on a steady stream of basketball games.

It's like Christmas.

Obviously March Madness is a tradition — why else would there be multimillion dollar ad campaigns focused around it? But, I'm curious what other offices do/any traditions you might have in your family when it comes to rooting for your favorite teams?

Post below with your responses.
