Hennesy staying put at Muskogee High after talks with Snyder
Just got off the phone with Matt Hennesy, former Dodge City High School Red Demon football coach, after hearing whispers that he was going to interview for a position on Bill Snyder's KSU staff.
Hennesy would only say that he and Snyder "talked about a few different things" and that he was not offered any position during those talks. He told me that Snyder would not start the official hiring process until the new year, and that the Muskogee Rougher coach could not wait that long.
Hence, another season awaits the former Demon coach with the Muskogee Roughers, who were ousted in the second round of the Oklahoma 6A playoffs by Stillwater after two consecutive runs to the state semis. Folks around Dodge may remember Hennesy's time at the helm of the Demons as slightly less fruitful, but apparently, Snyder saw fit to at least gage his former player's interest in coaching in Aggieville.
Very interesting,
Peace, I'm outta here.
